titleOfInvention Hot melt ink
abstract (57) Abstract: A hot-melt ink having at least 50% water self-dispersion property, a method of providing a mark having at least 50% water self-dispersion property using the ink, and a UV using the ink. A method for providing an opaque mask is disclosed. The ink can be used in a conventional hot melt ink jet printer, where the print head (10) of the printer includes a fill port (12), a membrane cavity (14), a pumping chamber (16), a PZT or piezoelectric transducer. (18) and an orifice (20). The ink is supplied to the printhead (10) through a fill port (12), and the ink is then degassed through a membrane cavity (14). The ink then flows into the pumping chamber (16). The print head (10) is heated so that the ink is dissolved and becomes a liquid, and then ejected from the print head (10). The liquid ink is ejected by the action of PZT (18). As the substrate passes by the orifice (20), droplets of hot liquefied ink pass through the orifice (20) and are ejected onto the substrate to form marks on the substrate.
