(57) [Summary]nThe electrochemical cell (1) includes an anode (2), a cathode (3), and an electrolyte (4). The electrolyte comprises an electrochemically reactive conductive salt, an organic liquid phase comprising one or more organic compounds; and less than 0.25 mole of ionic charged additives different from said organic compounds. The additive is less electrochemically reactive when used and has a conductive salt that has a cation containing a nitrogen atom, compared to a battery that uses an electrolyte without the additive when the discharge rate is increased. In an amount sufficient to improve the performance and improve the material usage of the cathode. In the battery of the present invention using the electrolyte (c) to which the additive was added, an improvement in conductivity of about 10% was obtained. |
