(57) [Summary]nThe present invention is directed to substituted Group 4 to 6 metal compounds in reduced oxidation state, preferably the first row metals in these groups, which are suitable for the activation of polymerization catalysts. It is characterized by including a hydrotris (pyrazolyl) borate auxiliary ligand and a plurality of monodentate or multidentate uninegative ligands excluding cyclopentadienyl ligand. The invention is characterized in that it comprises contacting these catalyst compounds with one or more monomers polymerizable by coordination or insertion polymerization under suitable polymerization conditions. |
