titleOfInvention | Blood pool carrier for lipophilic diagnostic imaging agents |
abstract | (57) Abstract: A surface modified lipoprotein-like oil-in-water emulsion useful as a blood pool selective delivery vehicle for lipophilic imaging agents or lipophilic derivatives of water-soluble imaging agents. The blood pool selective delivery vehicle remains in the blood for several hours, shows little early liver sequestration, and disappears from the blood within 24 hours. The average diameter of the oil phase is less than 150 nm, minimizing sequestration by the reticuloendothelial system. To prevent normal interaction with hepatocyte receptor sites, the surface of the oil phase is modified with polyethylglycol-modified phospholipids. In radioimaging, synthetic or semi-synthetic radioactive or stable, such as 2-oleoylglycerol-1,3-bis [7- (3-amino-2,4,6-triiodophenyl) heptanoate]. Lipid-soluble derivatives of conventional water-soluble contrast agents, such as polyhalogenated triglycerides or aliphatic esters of iopanoic acid, amidotrizoic acid, and acetolizoic acid can be introduced into the lipophilic nuclei of lipoprotein-like emulsion particles. it can. |
