Linear antigen support unit |
abstract |
(57) [Summary]nThe present invention relates to synthetic constructs comprising a linear core chain having two or more side chains hanging directly from different points on the linear core chain. Each of the side chains contains an epitope site or peptide of the antigen. Synthetic constructs are monomer units that can be linked together or polymerized to form a polymer. In this embodiment, the epitope sites on the side chains can be the same or different. A linear core chain may be a linear sequence of amino acids having two or more of the same peptides hanging directly from different points on the linear sequence. Another aspect of the present invention relates to a support having one or more of the above synthetic constructs or polymers attached to the support. Another embodiment of the present invention relates to antibodies raised against the synthetic constructs or polymers described above. This antibody can be purified using the support described above. Another aspect of the present invention is a vaccine comprising a synthetic construct as described above. The present invention also includes methods for synthesizing the constructs and polymers described above. |
