abstract | (57) [summary] HYD protein (hyperplastic discs) from Drosophila melanogaster and the rat derived 100kDa HECT: against (h omologous to E 6-AP c arboxyl t erminus E6-AP carboxy-terminal homology) domain protein significant EDD which encode a product that shows amino acid sequence identity: discloses a progestin regulated genes of novel human termed (E 3 isolated by D ifferential D isplay isolated E3 by differential display). This EDD gene seems to correspond to a tumor suppressor gene, and detection of a polymorphism or mutation of the gene in a subject diagnoses a hyperproliferative disease such as cancer, and also shows a predisposition to susceptibility to a hyperproliferative disease. It can be useful in making decisions. Also disclosed are assays for assessing progestin responsiveness in a subject. |
