abstract (57) Abstract: Flame-retardant phthalonitrile thermosetting polymers and composites are produced by combining phthalonitrile in a molten state with a halogen-containing aromatic amine-based curing agent. The halogen-containing aromatic amine-based curing agent is represented by the following general formula: H 2 N— (Ar 2 O—) y Ar 1 —X—Ar 1 (—OAr 2 ) y —NH 2 [wherein, Ar 1 and Ar 2 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group, y is 0 or a larger number and X is a group -C (CF 3 ) 2- ] and an aromatic amine-based curing agent having the following general formula: Formula: H 2 N— (Ar 4 O—) u Ar 3 —Z—Ar 3 (—OAr 4 ) u —NH 2 wherein Z is a linking bond or an oxygen atom or a group —C (CF 3 ) Is a linking group other than 2 −, u is 0 or a larger number, and Ar 3 and Ar 4 are aromatic groups, and any one of Ar 3 or Ar 4 or Ar 3 and Ar 4 is an aromatic group substituted with at least one halogen atom or a halo-substituted alkyl group].
