abstract |
Abstract: A unique absorbent comprising an absorbent core having multiple absorbent layers, wherein the absorbent layers interact to preferentially place the liquid within a designated highly saturated guiding layer. The localization of the liquid in the guiding layer increases the potential for liquid movement by capillary action of this layer due to the high saturation level and the increased amount of liquid available. In another aspect, at least one main layer region has a non-uniform, selectively zoned basis weight distribution. The specific structure of at least one main layer region can constitute a target region of this main layer region having a basis weight smaller than that of other non-target regions. |
