titleOfInvention Flexible lens manufacturing method
abstract (57) [Summary] A method for manufacturing a long and thin flexible lens. The method includes providing a mold (270) having an upper surface (272) formed to match the shape of the desired lens. The curable optical material (278) is distributed on the upper surface (272). A thin flexible structure layer (264) is disposed on the top surface (272) over the curable optical material (278) to form a mold assembly (282). The mold assembly cures. The flexible lens (260) is removed from the upper surface (272) of the mold. The flexible lens (260) can be curved into at least a semicircular arc while maintaining diffraction-limited optical properties.
