titleOfInvention Injector for intraocular lens
abstract (57) Abstract: An apparatus for inserting an intraocular lens into an eye includes a body portion, a tip portion 114 having a passage for passing the lens to a supply tip, and a plunger. . The tip portion is preferably pivotally connected to the body portion so that the barrel can be released to place the lens into the tip portion. The lens 504 is preferably located on two spaced apart, parallel distal tip pins 308 to facilitate folding of the lens. Preferably, a transverse pin 304 straddles the tip pin 308 and is positioned so that the lens passes underneath to prevent the lens from lifting and tilting.
