titleOfInvention Separation of methanol and propylene oxide from reaction mixture
abstract (57) [Summary]n  The propylene is separated from the methanol present as solvent in the crude olefin epoxidation product by extractive distillation. At this time, a relatively heavy polar solvent having a hydroxy group, such as propylene glycol or water, is used as the extraction solvent. The method is useful for removing impurities such as acetaldehyde or water from propylene oxide.
