abstract | (57) [Summary]nDisclosed are isolated DNA molecules that direct neuron-specific transcription of downstream heterologous DNA segments (promoter segments) in mammalian cells. This isolated DNA molecule contains a promoter segment from mouse genomic presenilin 1 DNA, or a DNA sequence that hybridizes to such DNA, and directs neuron-specific transcription of a downstream heterologous DNA segment in mammalian cells. .
