(57) [Summary]nAn isolated clone containing a sequence transcribed from the TREPA gene. Also provided are human polypeptides translated from the TREPA sequence and methods for producing the polypeptides recombinantly. Also provided are methods of producing soluble, biologically active TREPA that can be used to treat TREPA deficiency and pathological conditions ameliorated by TREPA. Also disclosed are antibody antagonists and inhibitors of the polypeptide that can be used to inhibit the action of the polypeptide, and thus can be used for therapeutic purposes to treat a TREPA-related disease, tumor or metastasis. Also disclosed are the use of the antibodies, agonists and inhibitors and nucleic acid sequences to screen for the diagnosis, prospect, staging and monitoring of conditions and diseases caused by TREPA, especially inflammation. Use of antibodies, agonists and inhibitors and partial nucleic acid sequences for screening for diagnosis, prospecting, staging and monitoring of TREPA-related diseases, including but not limited to inflammation. Exemplary sequences and clones of TREPA are also provided. |
