titleOfInvention | α1a adrenergic receptor antagonist |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe present invention relates to pharmaceutically acceptable crystalline salts of Compound A, which is an α1a adrenergic receptor antagonist useful for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia. A pharmaceutical composition using the crystalline salt, a method for producing a crystalline salt of Compound A and a pharmaceutical composition, and a method for using the same are also disclosed. The present invention is further directed to a method for obtaining an enantiomerically pure intermediate useful in the synthesis of the final product, the α1a adrenergic receptor antagonist. The end product compounds are useful for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia as well as for relaxing lower urinary tract tissue. The present invention is further directed to a process for the preparation of certain dihydropyrimidinone compounds, including compound A, which involves deprotonation of the dihydropyrimidinone compound and coupling of the deprotonated derivative with a primary amine. It is also about. |
