titleOfInvention Collagen or gelatin fragment composition and use
abstract (57) [Summary]nThe method for producing debris based on animal collagen or gelatin, and fine particle debris is useful for producing a composition based on collagen or gelatin. The debris contains about 15-45% by weight of animal collagen and about 0.01-5% by weight of a stabilizing or preservative agent, extracting animal collagen from animal tissue sources and combining this collagen with sufficient water. It is prepared by forming a composition. The combination of such materials can be solidified and subsequently processed into large particulate form. Large particulates include coarsely crushed or coarsely divided debris products of regular or irregular shape. The typical particle size for most of this debris is about 0.2-5 cm. This debris is easily manufactured, packaged, stored, handled and delivered. This crushed piece can be easily used as it is. This material readily melts at the point of use. The debris is also particularly adapted for use in combination with an aqueous diluent to form an aqueous solution of animal collagen or gelatin having a variety of uses. The aqueous solution of the crushed pieces can be produced by dissolving the crushed pieces in an aqueous liquid with minimal heating.
