SUMMARY The present invention relates to a method and an article for rapidly polishing a glass workpiece surface using a structured abrasive article comprising cerium oxide particles dispersed in a binder. The abrasive product for rapidly polishing a glass workpiece comprises a backing and at least one abrasive layer. The polishing layer includes cerium oxide particles dispersed in a binder. The binder provides a means for attaching at least one abrasive layer to the backing. The abrasive product can reduce an initial Rtm of about 0.8 μm or greater on a test glass blank to a final Rtm of about 0.3 μm or less in about 1 minute using an RPE procedure as defined herein. The present invention is further directed to a method of polishing a glass workpiece using the abrasive product of the present invention. |
