titleOfInvention Time domain circuit modeler
abstract (57) Abstract: A method and apparatus for obtaining a representation of an electrical circuit (400) suitable for time domain simulation. The electrical circuit comprises a physical structure (102) modeled using electromagnetic field analysis, and also comprises a remaining circuit of circuit components interconnected with the physical structure. The electromagnetic field analysis may at least produce a high frequency equivalent circuit that is representative of the physical structure (102) and is effective at the operating frequency of the electrical circuit, rather than direct current. The method of the present invention provides an improved DC bias condition for the non-linear components in the remaining circuits in a time domain simulation, including a set of DC sources (E 1 -E k ). The DC source may be a voltage source at each interconnect, a current source between each interconnect and a zero voltage reference interconnect, or a combination of both.
