(57) Abstract: The present invention is a medical device having a biocompatible coating and implanted in human body tissue, which is made of a material that is substantially biocompatible with human body tissue. Foreign matter (11). The foreign body (11) has a surface (16) configured to contact human tissue, the surface being oxidizable. The coating comprises an organic linker (26) carried on the surface (16). A bioactive agent (32) is attached to the organic linker (26) by a chemical reaction or a photochemical function. |
