titleOfInvention Ferromagnetic foreign matter inspection method and apparatus
abstract (57) Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting a response magnetic field from an iron-based object held in an inspection area by applying a time-varying magnetic field with a weak intensity to a selected portion of a host Is disclosed. The excitation field coil is designed to produce a limited field region within the region to be inspected as well as a region of the magnetic field near zero. Each sensor is located in this near-zero field range to reduce the effects of the applied field. The effect of this applied magnetic field is further reduced by using a reference sensor, a magnetic field compensation coil and a feedback loop. The magnetic gradient measured by these sensors is processed to clarify the position and characteristics of the iron-based object.
