abstract |
Abstract: An anhydrous antiperspirant cream composition is disclosed that contains substantially no polymeric or inorganic thickener and has improved product stability and spreadability. The composition has a needle input value of 75 g force to 500 g force; a delta stress value of 300 dyne / cm 2 to 8,000 dyne / cm 2 ; a static yield stress value of at least 1,000 dyne cm 2 . This new rheological profile comprises 0.1-20% by weight of a crystalline gelling agent; 10-80% by weight of an anhydrous liquid carrier for a crystalline gelling agent having a solubility parameter of 3 to 13; Contains ~ 35% by weight of particulate antiperspirant actives. Further disclosed is a method of making and using the composition, and a packaging composition having a means for administering a shear force for application to a site. The disclosed compositions are effective in eliminating the effects of solvents during storage, transport, and extrusion. |
