(57) Abstract: A method of manufacturing a radially expandable stent (21) from a planar sheet of material (31). A pattern (32) of closed interconnected elements (34) is formed in a sheet of material to prepare individual planar networks as stent blanks. The planar network is then re-deformed to provide a cylindrically shaped stent. In another embodiment, a sheet of material (62) is cut to form a pattern (61) having a solid bottom (63), which is then deep drawn using a punch (69). . Various arrangements for the interconnected elements are also disclosed. |
