abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe present invention is a stabilizer composition for stabilizing a polyethylene-based thermoplastic polymer against alteration, crosslinking and / or discoloration by exposure to heat or light, especially in the presence of oxygen. Wherein: a) at least one sterically hindered phenol, b) at least one phosphorus-containing secondary antioxidant, and c) at least one tocopherol compound, wherein the weight ratio of component (a) to component (b) is 2 : 1 to 1: 4 and the weight ratio of component (a) to component (c) is 2: 1 to 10: 1. A further aspect of the present invention is a masterbatch composition comprising the stabilizer composition. A method for producing the stabilizer composition is likewise an object of the present invention. The present invention also provides a method of increasing the processing stability of a polyethylene-based thermoplastic polymer comprising admixing a stabilizing amount of the stabilizer composition at any suitable stage of the processing.
