titleOfInvention | Hydrobromocarbon blends for fire and explosion control |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nA blend is provided for fire fighting, explosion suppression, fire fighting, and explosion protection. The blend comprises a bromine-containing component and a fluorine-containing component. The bromine-containing component is at least one selected from the group consisting of hydrobromoalkanes, hydrobromoalkenes, and hydrobromoallenes, which may contain chlorine. The fluorine-containing component is a saturated or unsaturated hydrochlorofluorocarbon, hydrofluorocarbon, perfluorocarbon, perfluoroether, hydrofluoroether and / or hydrofluoropolyether. This blend has a fire-extinguishing and explosion-suppressing action similar to that of halon and hydrobromofluorocarbon, and has no fear of environmental destruction as in a conventional fire extinguishing agent containing bromine and fluorine in the same molecule. |
