(57) [Summary]nDisclosed are novel proteins having the biological activity of tumor suppressor proteins and nucleic acid molecules encoding the proteins. Also provided are a method for isolating a nucleic acid molecule encoding a tumor suppressor protein and a nucleic acid molecule obtained by the method. In addition, tumor suppression encoded by the nucleic acid molecule can be performed using a vector containing the nucleic acid molecule operably linked to a regulatory element that allows expression in a prokaryotic or eukaryotic host cell. An active polypeptide can be produced. Pharmaceutical and diagnostic compositions containing the nucleic acid molecules of the invention and / or nucleic acid molecules complementary to such nucleic acid molecules are provided. Further disclosed is a composition comprising a polypeptide having a tumor-suppressing activity encoded by the nucleic acid molecule and / or an antibody that specifically recognizes the polypeptide. |
