(57) Abstract The present invention provides a polynucleotide that identifies and encodes human GTP binding protein γ-3 (HGPG), and HGPG itself. The present invention provides a recombinant expression vector, a host cell containing the vector, and a method for producing HGPG. The invention also provides methods of identifying pharmaceutical compositions that inhibit HGPG expression and activity, and methods of using such compositions for treating cancer. The present invention also provides a diagnostic test using an anti-HGPG antibody that specifically binds to HGPG or a polynucleotide that hybridizes to a transcript encoding HGPG in normal or diseased tissue. |
