SOLUTION: The following formula (3): Is epoxidized in the presence of an asymmetric catalyst to give the following formula (2): (In the formula, an asterisk indicates an optically active carbon.) An optically active epoxy enone derivative represented by the following formula is obtained and oxidized to obtain the following formula (1). To obtain an optically active epoxy propionate derivative represented by the formula:
