abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide a magnetic recording medium having good running durability, electromagnetic conversion characteristics, and durability. SOLUTION: In a magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer in which at least one ferromagnetic fine powder and a binder are dispersed on a non-magnetic support, the binder uses a short-chain diol having a weight average molecular weight of 600 or less and an organic diisocyanate. A magnetic recording medium comprising the polyurethane resin obtained as described above, wherein the short-chain diol is a short-chain diol having at least one of 3 to 5 cyclohexane rings or aromatic rings not sharing a carbon atom. |
