To provide an excellent method for producing a carboxylic acid ester using the same. SOLUTION: A transesterification catalyst in which a metal oligomer is supported on at least one carrier selected from calcium oxide, calcium hydroxide, magnesium oxide, a strongly acidic ion exchange resin and a strongly basic ion exchange resin, and an aliphatic compound Alternatively, in the method for producing a carboxylic acid ester by transesterification between an aromatic carboxylic acid ester and an alcohol, a method for producing a carboxylic acid ester, wherein the catalyst for the transesterification reaction is used.
