titleOfInvention New sulfur compound containing terphenyl skeleton
abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a liquid crystalline sulfur compound having high dielectric anisotropy. A novel terphenyl skeleton-containing sulfur compound represented by the following general formula (I) is provided. In the above general formula (I), m is 1 and n is 5 to 18 Wherein R 3 is an alkyl group having the same or smaller number of carbon atoms as n. Further, the present invention provides a method for producing the terphenyl skeleton-containing sulfur compound by, for example, reacting the bromide derivative with thiourea through a process of synthesizing a methoxy terphenyl derivative, a hydroxy terphenyl derivative and a terphenyl alkyloxy bromide derivative. I do. Further, the present invention provides a self-assembled monolayer using the terphenyl skeleton-containing sulfur compound. Embedded image
