abstract |
(57) [Problem] To provide highly useful bis (trifluoromethyl) phenylacetaldehyde by a simple operation using a readily available compound as a raw material. SOLUTION: A halogen-substituted trifluoromethyl compound is reacted with a vinyl ether or an ethanamide in the presence of a palladium compound, a phosphine and a base to obtain a trifluoromethylstyrene derivative, which is then hydrolyzed to obtain trifluoromethylphenyl. Acetaldehydes are obtained and further oxidized to produce trifluoromethylphenylacetic acids. |
