A method for controlling flies living or flying in a livestock house or poultry house, comprising using a compound having a binding activity to an insect nicotinic acetylcholine receptor or a salt thereof. Since the compound or a salt thereof has extremely high activity against flies, flies that live or fly in livestock pens or poultry houses can be controlled quickly and efficiently. In addition, it has an excellent control effect on flies that are resistant to drugs such as organophosphorus agents and pyrethroids that have been used conventionally.
