abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method capable of stably providing a practical and safe adjuvant for oral and nasal administration, and at the same time, providing a large amount and stably of a protein usable as the adjuvant. Aim. The present invention is based on the fact that rotavirus NSP4 has adjuvant activity, and provides an adjuvant comprising rotavirus NSP4. The rotavirus NSP4 protein used as the adjuvant is prepared by (1) a step of preparing a recombinant E. coli expression plasmid vector containing the rotavirus NSP4 protein or a gene encoding a part thereof and capable of producing the protein. And (2) a step of transforming host Escherichia coli with the recombinant Escherichia coli expression vector, (3) a step of culturing the transformed host Escherichia coli and producing a protein, and (4) a step of transforming the produced protein. It is manufactured by the process of separating and collecting.
