(57) [Problem] To obtain a base paper for release paper having high barrier properties against solvents or water and excellent water resistance. SOLUTION: At least one surface of a release paper substrate has a coating layer formed of a polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer (A) and an inorganic layered compound (B), and has an air permeability of 10,000 seconds. The release paper base paper is as described above. |
