titleOfInvention Low temperature operating solid oxide fuel cell
abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] The present invention is to quickly bring a battery cell to an operation start temperature even if a mixed gas of hydrocarbon fuel and air lower than the operation temperature is introduced into the battery cell lower than the operation temperature. It is an object of the present invention to provide a solid oxide fuel cell having the feature that the heater can be lightened and reduced in size. A negative electrode attached to a solid electrolyte of an oxide ion conductor is charged with ceria doped with at least one of samarium or gadolinium in an amount of 10 mol% to 30 mol%, and 5% to 30% by weight of nickel and a balance of nickel oxide. A cermet prepared by mixing and adjusting materials is used, and by supplying a mixed gas consisting of hydrocarbons and air to a battery cell at an operating temperature or lower, each member constituting the fuel cell is rapidly heated by an exothermic reaction of the negative electrode. To the operating temperature and power generation becomes possible.
