Manufacturing system and manufacturing method of thermosetting golf ball cover |
abstract |
(57) Abstract: A method and system for automatically forming a thermosetting layer on a semifinished golf ball is provided. The system comprises a plurality of stations connected by conveyors (24, 25). A thermoset flowable material is supplied to each cavity of the mold half. A plurality of semifinished golf ball products are then centered into the cavities of the first half mold. The two halves are merged, heated and cooled. Next, at the ejection station 38, the mold is separated, and the golf ball having the thermosetting layer formed thereon is ejected from the second half mold. A preferred thermosetting material is a thermosetting polyurethane. |
