abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a color image forming apparatus which is ozone-less, can maintain more easily, and can reuse transfer residual toner while suppressing an increase in size and cost. A plurality of photosensitive drums (image carriers) 1a to 1d And a plurality of charging means 2a to 2d for charging the photosensitive drums 1a to 1d, respectively, and developing the electrostatic latent images formed on the charged surfaces of the photosensitive drums 1a to 1d with developers of a plurality of colors, respectively. A plurality of developing devices (developing means) 4a to 4d for forming toner images of the respective colors, and a plurality of transfer rollers (transfer means) 10a to 10d for sequentially transferring the plurality of color toner images to recording paper (transfer member) P are provided. In the color image forming apparatus provided, each of the charging means 2a to 2d is constituted by a flexible charging roller (charging member) forming a contact portion with each of the photosensitive drums 1a to 1d, and 1000 to each charging roller 2a to 2d. A voltage of V or less is applied, and the developer remaining on each of the photosensitive drums 1a to 1d after the transfer of the toner image is collected by the developing devices 4a to 4d.
