PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain good proton conductivity in a solid polymer electrolyte membrane at high temperature and low humidity. SOLUTION: A membrane formed of an acidic main polymer having proton conductivity and forming an electrolyte membrane is dried with hot air (S12), and the membrane is immersed in a solution of a basic polymer. Impregnated (S14) A solid polymer electrolyte membrane. Most of the basic polymer is introduced into a portion of the main polymer that functions as a proton conduction path, and is responsible for proton conduction. This solid polymer electrolyte membrane exhibits good proton conductivity even at high temperatures exceeding the boiling point of water in a low humidity state, since the base polymer plays the role of proton conduction as compared with the case where protons conduct as hydrates. . |
