abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] A color liquid crystal display, a color video camera, and the like, in which the color density of an ink coloring layer is high and free from defects Provided are a method for producing an image scanner, a color filter for a personal computer, and a highly productive and inexpensive color filter. A color filter supporting substrate having a black matrix portion and a pixel forming portion is subjected to a process of affecting a contact angle between the black matrix portion and an ink meniscus and changing the contact angle with time before ink is deposited. A color filter supporting substrate having a black matrix portion and a pixel forming portion, which is subjected to a surface treatment with a chemical substance which affects a contact angle between the black matrix portion and an ink meniscus. And a method for manufacturing a color filter, wherein ink corresponding to each of the pixel forming portions is attached, and a color filter and a liquid crystal display device obtained by the manufacturing method.
