abstract | (57) Abstract: An antibacterial agent capable of maintaining high levels of antibacterial properties and safety and an antibacterial composition containing the antibacterial agent. SOLUTION: An antibacterial agent is formed by forming a plurality of quaternary ammonium salts on a carboxyl group-containing hydrophilic polymer such as carboxymethyl group-containing cellulose, and the salt is (a) a C 8-16 alkyl such as a benzonium salt. It is composed of benzyl di C 1-6 alkyl ammonium salt and (b) C 18-30 alkyl tri C 1-4 alkyl ammonium salt such as behenyl trimethyl ammonium salt. LD50 of antibacterial agent is 2 000 mg / kg or more. The ratio of the plurality of quaternary ammonium salts is the former (a) / the latter (b) = 5/95 to 50 / 50 (equivalent ratio) |
