abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound useful as an ashless detergent / dispersant having excellent high-temperature stability and high-temperature detergency and having a fine particle dispersing action, and a method for preparing such a compound and a specific ester derivative. And additives for lubricants and fuel oils containing these as a main component, and lubricants and fuel oil compositions containing these additives. (A) Number average molecular weight of 200 to 5,000 A succinic acid or an anhydride thereof substituted with an alkyl group or an alkenyl group, (b) a polyalkylene polyamine having at least 5 mol% of a terminal ring structure, and (c) boron obtained by reacting a boron compound. It is a succinimide-based compound.
