titleOfInvention Porous ceramic body
abstract (57) [Summary] (Modifications) [Problem] To provide a porous ceramic body which is a synthetic bone fragment replacement based on a negative replica method, a method for producing the same, and a method for using the same as a scaffold for tissue engineering. The method includes the steps of: 1) producing an aqueous slurry of a ceramic material; 2) mixing the slurry with a liquid, viscous organic phase to obtain a dough, wherein the organic phase is substantially dissolved in water. A porous ceramic body, which comprises the steps of: 3) drying the dough, and 4) removing the organic phase by pyrolysis, which is insoluble and can be pyrolyzed to a gaseous residue. Methods and how to use them. In particular, the ceramic substance is calcium phosphate and the organic phase is a substance selected from the group consisting of wax, shellac, fatty acid, fat, epoxy resin, polyurethane resin, polyester resin, poly (meth) acrylate resin, and combinations thereof. The resulting porous ceramic body has interconnected pores with an average size of 400-4000 μm, a porosity of at least 40% and a compressive strength of at least 10 MPa.
