titleOfInvention | Method of tapering glass capillary for optical fiber connection |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mass-produce by efficiently tapering the end face opening of a glass capillary for optical fiber connection without using a harmful glass erosive solution and preventing the occurrence of chipping and cracks. Provided is a method for taper processing a glass capillary for connecting an optical fiber, which can improve the taper. SOLUTION: The sandblasting device includes an abrasive supply device 22 for supplying abrasive particles to an abrasive spray nozzle 31 and an air source 33 for supplying air to the abrasive spray nozzle 21. The abrasive particle spray nozzle 21 has a nozzle diameter 0.3 to 0.9 times the outer diameter of the glass thin tube 24 to be machined. The portion is tapered to manufacture an optical fiber connector. |
