A liquid discharge head includes a substrate provided with a flow path wall for forming a liquid flow path and an energy generating element for generating bubbles in the liquid; Adhesive 10 to 106 2 and a top plate 108 that forms a flow channel 113 together with the substrate 106 and the flow channel wall 112, and a discharge port 104 provided at an opening of the flow channel 113. Top plate 10 8, an adhesive absorbing groove 110 for absorbing the excess adhesive 102 is formed at a position where the flow path wall 112 is in contact.
