abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a carrier for microorganisms which has a high function of supporting microorganisms, is lightweight and has excellent durability. A molded article (10) of a thermoplastic resin (14) containing 10 to 75% by volume of a porous inorganic substance (12) having an average particle diameter of 30 to 500 µm. This is a foam that has been cooled and solidified, has irregularities on the outer surface, and a part of the porous inorganic substance 12 is exposed on the outer surface of the molded body 10 and the surface of the pores.
