PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a novel magnetic powder which is completely different from a conventional needle-like magnetic powder, and to perform coating magnetic recording of a thin layer region having excellent magnetic properties which cannot be achieved by the conventional method. The aim is to get a medium. SOLUTION: This is a magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer containing a magnetic powder and a binder on a non-magnetic support, wherein the magnetic powder has an average particle size of 5 to 200 nm in a granular or oval rare earth element. A magnetic recording medium characterized by being an iron-boron magnetic powder, or an undercoat layer containing an inorganic powder and a binder between the nonmagnetic support and the magnetic layer, the average of the magnetic layer 0.3 μm thickness A magnetic recording medium having the above configuration, characterized in that: |
