abstract (57) [Problem] To remove unreacted monomers remaining in a polymer without requiring special equipment and heat energy, etc. A low-cost and efficient reduction method is provided. SOLUTION: A water-soluble inorganic salt capable of solubilizing an unreacted monomer contained in the vinyl-based polymer is added to an aqueous dispersion in which a vinyl-based polymer is dispersed in a particulate form in an aqueous medium. And a method for reducing unreacted monomers in the vinyl-based polymer, which comprises removing unreacted monomers together with the aqueous medium after solubilizing the vinyl-based polymer.
