titleOfInvention | Preparation of lithographic printing plate by negative acting non-ablation method |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing plate having excellent printability, suitable for on-press coating and on-press thermal image formation, and requiring no chemical treatment. And a heat-sensitive image-forming material for preparing a lithographic printing plate which can be used in a direct printing plate application. According to the present invention, a first magnetic field is applied to a dry light absorbing powder comprising a magnetic material and a hydrophobic thermoplastic binder, whereby the powder is coated on the surface of a metal support. -Imagewise exposing the powder in contact with the surface of the metal support, thereby improving the adhesion of the powder to the surface of the metal support without substantially ablating the powder; A method of making a lithographic printing plate comprising the step of removing non-exposed magnetic powder from the surface of a metal support under the action of a second magnetic field having a polarity substantially opposite to that of one magnetic field. . |
