SOLUTION: In the formula, X represents (CH 2 ) n or a p-phenylene group, Y represents a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, an amino group which may have a substituent, and R 1 , R 2 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a phenyl group which may be substituted, a halogen atom, or a lower alkoxy group, respectively. A molecular compound is prepared from the tetrakisaryl compound represented by the formula (1) and a polymer having a hydrogen bonding site such as polyethers, polyalcohols and polyamines.
