abstract (57) [Summary] (with correction) [Problem] To provide a novel alginate lyase having high alginate decomposability. A Flavobacterium sp the inventors of the present invention is separated from the soil (Flavobacteriu m SP. A) an alginate lyase having an N-terminal amino acid sequence derived from OTC-6 and having the following physicochemical properties; (1) Action: alginate between C 4 -C 5 non-reducing end is decomposed into sugars having a double bond, ultimately 4- deoxy -Decomposes into ketouronic acid. (2) Molecular weight: 25000 (3) Optimum pH: 8.0 (4) Stable pH: 7.0-8.0 (5) Optimum temperature: 70 ° C. (6) Substrate specificity: Acts on alginic acid, brown algae It has an extremely high activity for decomposing alginic acid from algae or microorganisms such as Pseudomonas bacteria.
