abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing trifluoromethylaniline in an industrial amount with excellent yield and purity in a simple and economical manner. SOLUTION: In a nitrobenzotrichloride obtained by nitrating benzotrichloride, a trichloromethyl group is converted into a trifluoromethyl group by a reaction with hydrofluoric anhydride, and finally, the nitro group is reduced. Trifluoromethylaniline is obtained in an advantageous manner. |
